Come sit at my table.

Hey there,

There's something I haven't quite been able to stop thinking about since I began telling you about The Practice.

I keep picturing my own kitchen table.

Not the pretty, cleared-off version of it. The everyday one. The one covered in books and paint and scraps of paper and half-finished ideas next to the half-finished sandwich. The place where I've spent so many years making things, writing things, praying over things, and occasionally wondering what on earth I'm doing.

I've realized that this is the part of my creative life I want to share with you. The real, messy one.

Not just the finished books.

Not just the artwork once it's framed.

Not just the beautiful package once it's ready to mail.

The making.

The wondering.

The experimenting.

The stories before I know how they end.

The prayers whispered in the middle of it all.

The way beauty is extracted one sacred piece at a time.

That's what I mean when I say I want you to pull up a chair.

Because The Practice isn't simply something I'm creating for you to receive. It's a place I'm inviting you into.

Today, I want to show you what that looks like.

For the next year, I’m inviting you to pull up a chair at my kitchen table.

Beginning in September, we’ll spend twelve months creating faithful rhythms around the table together.

Every month, you’ll receive a package with a new experience from me.

Some months this package will arrive in your inbox as a beautifully created digital package—heartfelt letters, devotionals, stories, creative direction, and invitations to slow down and pay attention.

Other months, a delightful physical package will arrive at your doorstep—something I've curated to help you step away from the noise, make something with your hands, and spend a little unhurried time at the table.

Through my monthly letters, you'll be invited behind the scenes of my own creative life.

You'll watch me wrestle with words as they become books. You'll see ideas take shape on my kitchen table. You'll hear the stories behind the stories and come along as I experiment, wonder, question, and follow the creative threads God places in front of me. You'll see the beautiful mess of the making—not just the finished work.

And at the same time, I'll be inviting you to pay attention to your own life.

To notice what makes you curious.
To make room for beauty.
To follow an idea simply because it delights you.
To pick up an old interest you've forgotten about.
To tell a story before it disappears.
To use the good dishes on an ordinary Tuesday.
To plant something, rearrange something, write something, cook something, make something—or simply stop long enough to notice something beautiful that was already there.

The creative projects we explore together are simply tools for practicing this kind of attention. The goal isn't to become more artistic. It's to become more awake to the life you're already living.

I don't want to teach you how to become more like me. I want to encourage you to become more curious about the person God created you to be—and to discover the ways creativity might help you see, live, and love your life a little more fully.

Maybe you've been creating for years. Maybe you've never considered yourself creative at all. Either way, there's room for you at this table.

If you were part of my original Intercessor Circle, I think you’ll recognize something familiar here.

Those heartfelt monthly packages were never really about the things inside the box.

They were about the feeling of being invited into a deeper place.

The Practice carries that same heart forward—but now the invitation is bigger.

You’ll not only receive the things I’m creating. You’ll get to watch them come to life.

And if you’ve joined me for one of my Painted Prayer Workshops in the past, you’ll recognize another piece of this.

There is something different about creating alongside someone.

You don’t have to figure everything out by yourself.

You just sit down.

You begin.

You see what happens.

Because the most impactful work is happening during the process, not with the ending product.

That’s the rhythm I want us to practice all year long.

The journey I've mapped out for this year is one I'm incredibly excited to share with you.

We'll begin on September 15, when your first package arrives and we officially pull up our chairs around the table.

We'll start with my brand-new book called, The Way of the Faithful Creator—this manifesto will give us the guideposts for the year ahead and invite us to begin practicing what it means to live and create faithfully.

From there, the year will unfold through a monthly rhythm of digital experiences and physical packages delivered to your door.

We'll capture stories and learn to preserve the moments that matter. We'll explore new creative mediums when we feel stuck. We'll make mosaics, create with collage, fill a junk journal, and paint together through a Painted Prayer Workshop. We'll make room for curiosity, experiment with the unexpected, and learn to notice the beauty already present in our everyday lives.

In the middle of all of it, I'll continue pulling back the curtain on my own creative process—sharing the books, artwork, ideas, experiments, and stories as they take shape. And you'll get the newest edition of Gritty Faith Magazine... in the stunning physical edition as we explore the importance of creating in community.

In January, you'll receive the second of three books in this journey called, Nothing is Precious and Everything is Sacred. Through my own stories, we'll explore what happens when we stop saving our good things for someday and begin using what we have right now.

And then, next summer, we'll finish out our year together with the final book, Seeking Wonder: A Journey to Find My Spark Again, as we reflect on this journey and what happens when we make room for wonder, curiosity, and our creative spark to return.

Underneath all of 12 packages containing books, packages, projects, and experiences is something much simpler.

We're practicing.

Practicing paying attention.

Practicing making room for beauty.

Practicing curiosity.

Practicing telling our stories.

Practicing showing up.

Practicing noticing where God is already meeting us in the middle of our ordinary lives.

That's The Practice.

If something in you is quietly saying,

"I think I'd like to sit at that table..."

I've created a page where you can see the entire year laid out and decide if this is the right invitation for you.

With gratitude,
