Prayer
God,
Thank You for the gift of making.
For hands that can create.
Minds that can imagine.
Words that can tell stories.
Eyes that can notice beauty.
Give me courage to use what You have given me.
Keep me from measuring the worth of my work by its response.
Help me create faithfully, generously, and honestly.
And when I am tempted to hide behind planning, comparison, or perfection, gently call me back to the work itself.
Amen.

Reflection
There is a point when thinking becomes its own kind of hiding.
We research. We plan. We gather supplies. We make lists. We rearrange the workspace. We imagine all the possibilities.
And eventually, the invitation is no longer asking us to think about it.
It's asking us to do the thing.
This is especially true for creators.
You can spend years thinking about the book you want to write.
The art you want to make.
The business you want to build.
The story you want to tell.
The thing you believe you were made to contribute.
At some point, you have to put your hands to it.
Not because you know it will succeed.
Not because anyone is waiting for it.
Not because you've figured out how to make it profitable or impressive.
But because something in you has been invited to create.
And creation requires participation.
God could have made everything without us.
He didn't. He made us image-bearers—people who get to participate in bringing beauty, goodness, truth, and imagination into the world.
So perhaps the question isn't:
“Will anyone care?”
Or:
“Will this work?”
Or even:
“Am I good enough?”
Perhaps it's simply:
“Am I willing to make what I've been asked to make?”
The outcome belongs to God. The making is ours.
