God,
Slow me down enough to notice Your goodness. Protect the part of me that still knows how to wonder. Help me see beauty without needing to make it useful, productive, or profitable. Give me eyes to notice the gifts hidden inside ordinary days.

Reflection
One of the dangers of tending something carefully is becoming so focused on its progress that we forget to enjoy it.
We measure.
We analyze.
We evaluate.
We wonder if we're doing enough.
And suddenly we're standing in the middle of a garden without actually seeing the flowers.
I think God wants more for us than productive lives.
He wants awake lives.
Lives that notice.
Lives that stop for the butterfly.
Lives that marvel at morning light.
Lives that laugh around the table.
Lives that recognize beauty without immediately asking what it can produce.
Perhaps tending isn't always about work.
Sometimes tending means protecting our capacity for wonder.
Because wonder turns our attention back toward the One who made all of it.
