Prayer

God,

Teach me to notice.

Slow me down enough to see the things I might otherwise walk past. Help me recognize the quiet moments when You are drawing my attention somewhere.

Give me curiosity without anxiety.

Help me resist the urge to immediately explain, solve, or turn everything into an assignment.

If You are inviting me to look closer, help me stop.

If You are whispering, help me listen.

And if I don't yet understand what You are doing, give me the faith to simply come closer.

Amen

Verse of the Day

Reflection

Moses wasn't looking for an invitation.

He was tending sheep.

It was an ordinary day doing an ordinary thing when something caught his attention.

A bush was burning, but it wasn't being consumed.

And Moses could have kept walking.

He could have decided it was strange but irrelevant. He could have been too busy. He could have assumed someone else would figure it out.

Instead, he stopped.

“I will go over and see.”

And that small decision changed everything.

We often imagine God's invitations arriving with some grand announcement.

A clear calling.

A perfectly timed opportunity.

A door flung wide open with our name written across it.

But sometimes an invitation begins much more quietly.

Something catches your attention.

A Scripture won't leave you alone.

A conversation lingers in your mind.

A creative idea keeps returning.

You feel a holy restlessness about something you've been ignoring.

You notice a need.

You find yourself longing for something you can't quite explain.

Maybe the invitation isn't asking you to do anything yet.

Maybe it's simply asking you to stop and look.

Moses didn't know what the burning bush meant when he turned aside.

He only knew that something had caught his attention.

Sometimes faith begins there.

Not with an answer.

Not with a five-year plan.

Just with the willingness to say:

“I will go over and see.”

Invitation

What has been quietly catching your attention lately?

Don't decide what it means yet. Just notice.
