Prayer
Lord,
When I don't know, help me resist the urge to pretend that I do.
Give me wisdom. Give me patience.
Bring wise people into my life who can help me see what I cannot see on my own.
Protect me from making decisions simply because uncertainty makes me uncomfortable.
And when clarity comes, help me recognize it.
Until then, teach me that I can be faithful even here.
Amen.
Verse of the Day
Reflection
Sometimes we make discernment sound much cleaner than it actually is.
Pray. Listen.
Receive an answer. Go.
But what happens when you've prayed and you're still unsure?
What happens when two options both seem possible?
What happens when there isn't a burning bush or a neon sign or an unmistakable sense of direction?
Sometimes... you simply don't know yet.
And that's okay.
Faith does not require us to pretend to have clarity we don't have.
You can be thoughtful.
You can seek counsel.
You can study Scripture.
You can wait.
You can gather information.
You can ask questions.
You can pray again.
And you can admit: “I am still discerning this.”
There is no shame in that.
God is not frustrated by your questions.
He is not disappointed because you haven't figured everything out or because you are still wrestling with the answers.
Wisdom is often formed slowly.
Sometimes the answer becomes clear only after we've lived with the question for awhile.
So don't rush simply to escape uncertainty.
Let the question breathe. Let God meet you there.
Encouragement
Invitation
Name one thing you are genuinely unsure about.
Instead of demanding an answer today, ask God for wisdom.
Then leave a little room for Him to work.
