You don't have to figure it all out.

This September, journey with us as we learn to notice the holy invitations God is placing before us—and find the courage to faithfully respond.

Prayer

God,

I confess that I often want answers before obedience.

I want to know the ending before I begin.

I want certainty before I trust.

Teach me a different way.

Give me enough courage for the step in front of me and enough humility to leave tomorrow in Your hands.

When I cannot see the whole path, remind me that You can.

When I don't understand what You are doing, help me trust who You are.

Amen.

Verse of the Day

Reflection

There is a particular temptation that comes when we begin to discern something:

We want to understand it completely.

We want to know where it will lead.

We want to know whether it will work.

We want to know what it will cost.

We want to know what comes after that.

And then what comes after that.

We want the entire staircase before we're willing to take the first step.

But God rarely seems interested in giving us the whole staircase.

He gives us enough light for the step we're standing on.

This is difficult for people who are planners.

It is difficult for people who have labeled themselves as responsible.

It is difficult for people who have learned that preparation makes them feel safe.

But there are some things preparation cannot give us, only trust can.

Maybe you don't need to know where this invitation leads.

Maybe you only need to know whether you're being asked to take this step.

The rest can unfold in its own time.

God is not asking you to know what He knows.

He is asking you to trust Him with what you don't.

Encouragement

Invitation

What would change if you stopped asking God to show you the whole path and simply asked:

“What is the next step You are inviting me to take?”

In this book, Rachel Ann Dittmer reflects on relationships spanning over two decades of life, starting as far back as her teenage years. From fragile threads to enduring ties, these poems explore the beauty, pain, and complexity of the human connection.

With raw honesty, Rachel shares the thoughts she held in various relationships or putting herself in another’s shoes that shaped her understanding and actions. Her hope is that these words resonate with your own journey, offering comfort, clarity, or even courage as you navigate the ties that pull at your heart.
