This October, journey with us as we slow down to recognize what God has been growing, receive the fruit of His faithfulness, and give thanks for the harvest.

Prayer
God,
I want to understand what You are doing. I want to know why some things grew and others didn't, why certain prayers were answered differently than I hoped, and why some of the things I worked toward seem to be taking so long.
Give me grace to live with what I cannot explain.
Help me recognize the difference between something I am meant to nurture and something I need to release. Keep me from forcing an outcome simply because I am afraid to leave it in Your hands.
I bring You the hopes that remain unfinished, the seeds that never seemed to take root, and the questions I still carry. You can be trusted with all of it.
Amen.
Verse of the Day
Reflection
A harvest isn't a guarantee that everything we planted will grow.
Some seeds never take root. Some plants grow differently than we expected. Some fruit isn't ready to be gathered, and some things are lost to circumstances we couldn't control.
We know this about gardens and fields, but it can be harder to accept in our own lives.
When something doesn't work out, we often look for the mistake. Did we miss a step? Should we have worked harder, waited longer, prayed differently, or made a better decision?
Sometimes there is something to learn. We can be honest about what went wrong and take responsibility for our part.
But we cannot explain every disappointment by assuming we failed.
There are things we simply don't know. There are outcomes we cannot control. And there are questions that may remain unanswered even after we've done our best to understand.
You can bring those things to God without trying to make them fit into a tidy explanation.
Perhaps the faithful thing now is to gather what is ready, tend what still needs care, and leave the rest with Him. You don't have to force every seed to become the harvest you imagined.
God is still God in the places where you don't have an answer.

What outcome are you still trying to make sense of? Can you give God room to hold the unanswered parts?
