Prayer
God, Here I am.
I don't know everything that comes next.
But I know I want to keep walking with You.
Keep teaching me to notice.
Keep teaching me to listen.
Give me wisdom to discern what is mine and what isn't.
Give me courage to respond when You invite me forward.
Give me peace to wait when the answer is not yet.
And give me open hands when it is time to release the outcome.
I don't need the whole map.
I only need enough light for the next step.
So when You whisper, "Come this way..." Help me hear You.
And give me the courage to follow.
Amen.

Reflection
Maybe this is the part of the journey we most need to remember:
There is always another invitation.
Not because we are never doing enough.
Not because we need another thing to accomplish.
Not because God is constantly moving the finish line.
But because relationship with God is alive.
There will always be another place to grow.
Another person to love.
Another thing to release.
Another story to tell.
Another beautiful thing to notice.
Another creative work waiting somewhere inside you.
Another invitation to rest.
Another invitation to begin.
Another invitation to come closer.
Perhaps we have spent too much of our lives asking:
“What is God's plan for my entire life?”
That question can feel impossibly large.
What if we asked something smaller?
Something more immediate?
Something we can actually live:
What is God inviting me into today?
And then:
What would it look like to faithfully respond?
You don't need the whole map.
You don't need to know what next year will hold.
You don't need to manufacture a calling.
You don't need to chase every possibility.
You can pay attention.
You can discern.
You can respond.
You can release.
And then you can look up again.
Because the life of faith is not one giant yes.
It is a thousand small moments of listening.
A thousand opportunities to trust.
A thousand times of opening our hands and saying:
Here I am.
Whatever comes next, may we be people who are awake enough to notice.
Brave enough to respond.
Wise enough to discern.
And surrendered enough to let God hold the outcome.

As September comes to a close, sit somewhere quiet and ask yourself:
What is God inviting me into?
And then:
What would it look like to faithfully respond?
Don't force an answer.
Just listen.
The next invitation may already be closer than you think.
