Prayer
God,
Give me courage to try again when You are still inviting me forward.
Help me learn from what didn't work without allowing disappointment to define me.
Give me wisdom to know when to persist and when to release something completely.
Keep me from confusing failure with unfaithfulness.
And when the invitation remains, give me the grit to begin again.
Amen.

Reflection
Not every invitation works the first time.
Sometimes you say yes and discover that the path isn't what you expected.
The idea doesn't work.
The relationship changes.
The project fails.
The door closes.
The thing you made doesn't find the audience you hoped for.
And suddenly you're standing in the aftermath wondering:
Was I wrong?
Maybe.
Or maybe you were simply faithful with what you knew at the time.
We sometimes assume that if God invited us into something, the first attempt should work.
But faithfulness doesn't guarantee a straight line.
Sometimes the invitation is: Try again.
Not because the first attempt was wasted.
Because you learned something. You grew.
You discovered what doesn't work.
You became someone who can now approach the thing differently.
Failure doesn't automatically mean you misunderstood God.
Sometimes it simply means you are human.
So if something didn't work, don't rush to label it wasted.
Ask what it taught you.
Ask what remains.
Ask whether the invitation has ended—or whether it has simply changed shape.
And then listen again.
Because sometimes the next faithful step is not a new direction.
Sometimes it's another attempt.
